Indian Space Research Organization or ISRO is the space agency of the Indian Government. It was founded by Vikram Sarabhai and has its headquarters in Banglore. ISRO has made all of us proud so many times and always glorified the name of India across the globe. The achievements of ISRO will make you proud of being an Indian. But sadly, a lot of us doesn’t even know about the achievements of the Indian Space Research Organization.
So, we are here to make you get well acquainted with the proud achievements of the Indian Space Research Organisation.
1. India was the one to find the evidence of the presence of water on the moon.
A Satellite sent by ISRO on the moon called the Chandrayaan in 2009 was the one to found the traces of water on the moon. It is even confirmed by NASA that it was India’s Moon Impact Probe Mission who detected the evidence of water on the moon.
2. India manages to have its own laboratory.
All thanks to ISRO, because of it AstroSat was established in India. It may be a lot smaller than the Hubble Telescope but something is better than nothing. Not to mention but its a great step in the Indian Space Research Organization.
3. The very first satellite of India was a Nano-Satellite.
After many years of launching nanosatellites in space through ISRO, the chairman Mr. Nair revealed it finally. India is not very successful or famous for creating the nanosatellites but despite being so, it managed to launch nanosatellites in space and it weighed just 40 kgs!
4. The discovery of three species of rare bacteria.
Indian Space Research Organisation managed to discover the three rare species of bacteria found in the upper stratosphere between the range of 20km-40km. It is counted amongst the greatest achievements of India.
5. Britain rented rocket from India.
In the year 2015, Britain had to hire a rocket from India in order to launch it’s 5 satellites.
