Priyanka Joshi who belongs to India recently got a feature on Vogue’s list of 25 Most Influential Women in Britain shaping 2018. Every year Vogue releases list to praise the human activist, scientists, writers and artists that are doing some outstanding work in their field of work. These women are not only doing great jobs but are also inspiring other humans to be a better version of themselves.
Today we are going to introduce you to Priyanka Joshi who just got the feature on the Vogue’s list of 25 Most Influential Women and also how she got the feature.
Priyanka Joshi is a science student and she studies Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at Pune in Savitri Bai Phule College. To do her Ph.D. she went to Cambridge University, UK.

“Priyanka Joshi had barely completed her Ph.D. when Forbes named her one of the most important faces in science… the 29-year-old sits at the cutting edge of Alzheimer’s research, and has been praised for her ground-breaking work building a ‘library’ of drug-like molecules to target irregular proteins that cause degenerative brain diseases.”
“With dementia now the leading cause of death for women in England and Wales, her early breakthroughs and research could not be more vital.”
And Forbes states, “Priyanka Joshi’s research focuses on identifying small molecule drugs and metabolites in the human brain that can modulate the formation of amyloid beta-protein clumps, thought to be the underlying cause of Alzheimer’s disease. The small molecule library that she created is the basis for starting a drug discovery programme at the Centre for Misfolding Diseases at the University of Cambridge.”

Indian Academy of Sciences Summer Research Fellow in 2009 and 2011.

Youngest Investigator award in 2013 for Alziemer.
