So This year in 2018, India is celebrating it’s 72nd Independence Day. When I was in School, before the Independence Day, I would iron my white dress, polish my, set my tricolor pin and flags ready. And the next day, I would wake up early in the morning and go for the hoisting ceremony at the school. The school was decorated with tricolor flags and other kinds of stuff. They play patriotic songs on loudspeakers and students would perform dance and give speeches about our freedom fighters and victory of Indians.
But now, Independence has become another national holiday for me. However, this day stirs up patriotic feelings in me and would like to spend it in a better way. So here are the 5 things you can do for your country:
1. You Can Clean Up Your Neighbourhood.
This 15th August, You can take a step towards making India clean. Obviously, you can start with your neighborhood. You can pick up garbage from your housing and colonies, install dustbins, repair leakages and walkways.
2. Feed Hungry People
All you need to do is while going out, carry some extra food like chapatis, cooked vegetables, and snacks, and hand it to hungry and poor people. This will not cost you a lot but make someone’s day much brighter.
3. Plant A Tree.
In our Indian Flag, the green color depicts prosperity. So this 15th August, take a step making India more environmentally prosperous. All you need to do is just plant a sapling around your neighborhood and water the plant whenever require. One sapling per person can do the wonders.
4. Animal Welfare
As Mahatma Gandhi said, “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way in which its animals are treated.”
Every city has one Animal Welfare Initiatives or Organisations. So this Independence Day, you can contribute to them and make the lives of animals, a little happier.
5. Random Act Of Kindness
Many people around us face different problems and struggles in their life. These problems can be tying them to the ground and one act of kindness can get them relief from the stress. You can be the person bringing a smile to someone’s face.
